Repub’s critical of 2 appointee’s regarding taxes, what are you going to say when 300 tax cheats are caught?
WASHINGTON – A government lawsuit Thursday seeks the identities of tens of thousands of possible U.S. tax cheats who hid billions of dollars in assets at the Swiss-based bank UBS AG. A defiant Swiss president pledged to maintain his country’s bank secrecy laws.
In the suit filed in Miami, the Obama administration wants UBS to turn over information on as many as 52,000 U.S. customers who concealed their accounts from the U.S. government in violation of tax laws.
At a time when millions of Americans are losing their jobs, their homes, and their health care, it is appalling that more than 50,000 of the wealthiest among us have actively sought to evade their civil and legal duty to pay taxes, the acting assistant attorney general, John DiCicco, said in a statement.
A deal announced Wednesday provides access to about 250 to 300 UBS customers who used Swiss bank secrecy laws to hide assets. To avoid prosecution, UBS agreed to pay $780 million. The bank’s chairman, Peter Kurer, said UBS accepted full responsibility for helping its U.S. clients conceal assets from the Internal Revenue Service.
See, we are going after your tax frauds who have been frauds for decades, not paying taxes. Isn’t this just more Republican hypocrisy? And these people DID NOT pay their taxes! BUT they will!
Bryan, the tax-cheat occuping an office was a Bush appointee!

UBS accused of fraud
WASHINGTON (CNN) — The U.S. government Thursday sued UBS, Switzerland’s largest bank, to force the firm to give the Internal Revenue Service secret account information on thousands of accounts believed to be worth nearly $15 billion.
The suit comes only one day after the Justice Department announced an agreement in which UBS promised to to provide secret account information.
I don’t think Bush was in office in February. Obama sued them!

How do I obtain both health care and financial power of attorney on behalf of elderly parent?
I need to obtain health care and financial power of attorney on behalf of my grandma who has come down with Alzheimer’s Disease about a year ago
Her health is good, and recognizes me with no problem-she just has a short-term memory loss.
What’s complicating ths issue is that my grandma’s Canadian citizen and is in Korea right now. My dad is in Korea and cannot leave Korea due to work. I live in America so I’m the only one who can go to Canada to do anything on grandma’s behalf. So I need POA
(1) Is this possible at all when grandma and I cannot be physically together to sign the letter of attorney? If possible, how should we do this? If a letter of attorney was to be prepared by attorney in Korea, what additional steps are required to make sure the letter is legitimate?
(2) Can any attorney prepare a letter of attorney for us? (I mean, even a tax lawer?) What kind of attorney is best at doing this? How much does it cost?
(3) Is she considered not mentally competent due to AD?

Can an attorney contact your employer without an order?
I am in the process of a wage garnishment. They recieved the judgement against me back in 2006. I have since then, gathered all documents taht the money is not owed (statements of account) as well as filed a objection to the writ because of it not being properly served as well as my belief the debt was previously paid.
Since 2006, I have changed employers. The current garnishee on this is the State only for my state tax refund. HOWEVER, this attorney had her office fax to my current employer a subpoena to produce all employment documents and my current physical address (with my maiden name on it, which changed almost 5 years ago.)
Can they do this without the judges consent? I have my day with them in Court in 2 weeks.

Does anyone know of an attorney to tackle child support and the IRS?
I have voluntarily paid child support for the entire time and even before ordered to do so. I have flown from Va. to AZ. in Oct. just after Sept. 11 and entered into an agreement with the state to pay above what was ordered by the original agreement. My tax refunds have been turned over to the child support even though I followed my agreement and paid everything asked. I have only been allowed visitation with all my kids once for a few hours due to my ex being bitter.
The last child will be 18 soon and now I want to be done with everything and I want all overpayments returned to me with interest.
I need a lawyer who will cross state lines and represent me against AZ and the IRS.
your input is greatly appreciated in this matter.
Thanx,
Rory
